Laser hair removal
Laser hair removal or waxing: the differences
How laser treatment differs from temporary methods such as shaving and waxing.
9 April 2024 · 4 min read

Shaving, waxing and laser hair removal address unwanted hair in different ways.
Temporary methods
Shaving removes hair above the skin. Waxing removes hair from the root, but the follicle remains active and hair grows back.
Targeting the follicle
Laser light is converted into heat in the follicle. A full treatment course builds towards lasting hair reduction, while the number of sessions depends on skin, hair and treatment area.
- • Shaving removes visible hair
- • Waxing removes hair but not the follicle
- • Laser targets the follicle
- • Several laser sessions are required
