What is laser hair removal?
Laser light is absorbed as heat by the pigment in the hair follicle. The follicle is damaged, after which the hair sheds and hair growth is permanently reduced.
Which laser does RB Clinics use?
We use the LightSheer Desire diode laser. Its HighSpeed handpiece treats larger areas efficiently, while the ChillTip handpiece cools the skin during treatment.
Am I suitable for laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal suits most people who want to reduce unwanted hair. Very light blonde, grey, white or red hair contains too little pigment to treat effectively. We assess this during your free consultation.
How many treatments will I need?
On average, six treatments are needed, depending on your hair type and treatment area. Hair grows in different phases, so not every follicle can be treated in one session.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
The treatment is not completely painless, but is generally less painful than waxing or epilating. Each pulse can feel briefly like an elastic band against the skin. Cooling helps keep treatment comfortable.
Is laser hair removal safe?
Laser hair removal is safe when performed correctly by an experienced specialist. We first assess your skin and hair type. The LightSheer Desire is FDA and CE approved.
How should I prepare?
Shave the treatment area 24 hours beforehand and avoid sun exposure. Do not wax or epilate during the treatment course.
What aftercare is needed?
Avoid direct sunlight and saunas after treatment, and use sunscreen on the treated area. Your specialist will give you personal aftercare advice.
